Already Broken! Jan 07, 2009 my son recieve this for christmas and it was in pieces a few days later. Each controller takes six batteries and you charge the heli from the controller. The charge does not last very long and the batteries die quickly. This was an expensive gift and definitely not worth the money.
good fun Jan 06, 2009 It is fairly easy to learn to fly although maneuverability is limited. They continue to fly after numerous crashes and roughlandins.
Son and His Dad Having Fun Jan 02, 2009 My son asked for this for Christmas this year. It was very pricey but since it was on his "must have" list, we got it. He is not disappointed. He loves to battle with his dad in the air. These helicopters are very fragile but ours have held up so far. If you take care of them, they should last. The battling really would work better in an open room with a high ceiling but it is working okay in the space we have. My son is happy and is enjoying his gift so I gave this toy four stars for fun. I recommend this toy.
A toy for Young and Old Dec 30, 2008 We had a problem right out of the box. The transmitter for one of the choppers had a defective control. And although we were able to fly, it was with some very strange results. It got worse after 2 days and we finally gave up flying the one.
Because Amazon does not replace this item, I called SPINMASTER. I spoke with a lady named LISA. Here was her exact response.
"Please cut one of the blades off the propeller and take a picture of the copter and the paid receipt from Amazon. E-mail them to us and we will send you a whole new set. Here is your case number and you should receive them in two weeks".
So far I call that great customer service. We will find out in two weeks.
The AIR HOGS Havoc Heli Laser Battle is a lot of fun. We are between the ages of 7 to 67. And all of us were able to fly the one working transmitter and copter. A great indoor family activity that teaches both eye and hand co-ordination.
What I liked was the amount of flying time before a recharge was necessary. The charge took about 20 minutes.
Another great point, is that you don't have to plug the chargers into the wall. They charge off of 6 AA's. I call that a green machine.
We look forward to a real battle and many hours of fun.
Air Hog Helicopters Dec 30, 2008 Made of styrofoam so not very durable - a bit hard to maneuver - better for older children. My 11 & 14 year old children enjoy it, but are afraid to break them...
